Nice water, many beaches as the river snakes from side to side. Speaking of snakes, THERE ARE SNAKES! And alligators, and all other sorts of river dwelling things that you don't want to be bitten by! SO BE AWARE! But it's fun, it's cheap, and it's nearby.

There is canoe and inner tube rental for relaxed floating. No alcohol allowed. No glass containers allowed! Hefty fines for breaking state park rules!

I randomly got the day off so we made a split second decision and went canoeing. The people at the canoe rental place were helpful and quick. It was my 8 and 9 year olds very first canoeing trip and everything was perfect, will be coming back!

It is an amazing place to enjoy a great family fun filled day no matter your just visiting or here to stay. Strolling down one of the most beautiful places in Florida. National state parks and wild life. Black water river state forest. I would have photos but my phone died sorry

Love the oxbow lakes nature walk near deaten bridge... Last time we even came across a water moccasin, which politely got off the path as we approached, and a great heron.. Huge wingspan and noisy take off!

Great park. Sites are clean and we'll spaced out. River is canoe and kayak heaven. Way out in the woods. Don't trust your GPS, look on the website for best results.

We have been to the camp grounds at Blackwater too and they are an excellent, modern camp site.
